As the Task Team Leader of World Bank’s PFM Reforms program in Indonesia, I am happy to share that our team’s hard efforts of past two years finally paid off yesterday. We were able to set-up a new Multi Donor Trust Fund that will finance the PFM reforms of Government of Indonesia during the next five years.

The World Bank, represented by Ms. Rolande Pryce, Acting Country Director, and the Government of Switzerland, represented by Mr. Kurt Kunz, Ambassador of Switzerland to Indonesia, signed an Administration Agreement for setting up a new Multi-Donor Trust Fund at the Swiss Embassy yesterday. Through this agreement, Government of Switzerland has committed 9 million Swiss Francs for this program.

This trust fund program will help the Government of Indonesia in modernizing the management of its public resources. The program will support government in (i) improving the tax policy and management (collect more), (ii) improving expenditure policy and management (spend better), (iii) improving subnational public resources management, and (iv) harnessing digital technology for a more effective and efficient revenue and expenditure management.

European Union and Canada are also likely to join this trust fund soon.
